PINK SATURDAY - MODE PARISIENNE
I'm feeling somewhat romantic and nostalgic this weekend: we had a visit from my very best friend (since schooldays, age 11 - we're 57 now!) and her new man.
Springtime in Paris, 12 x 12 scrapbook page with waterfall effect (on left). Copyright Susie Jefferson.
She had a lousy divorce, so it's lovely to see her happy!
Thankfully, they were past the holdie-handie stage (too embarrassing!). It was a great visit and although it took me the better part of two days to stash away all the art stuff (which has to come out again) it was well worth it.

So I've been looking at pix of Paris, mostly the Eiffel Tower, which I thought you might enjoy.
Photo circa 1900
I lived in Paris for 3 years (age 5 - 8) and have never forgotten it, so here are the lyrics to The Last Time I Saw Paris, in case you want to sing along whilst you look at the photos...
THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS
A lady known as Paris, Romantic and Charming
Has left her old companions and faded from view
Lonely men with lonely eyes are seeking her in vain
Her streets are where they were, but there's no sign of her
She has left the Seine
The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
I heard the laughter of her heart in every street café
The last time I saw Paris, her trees were dressed for spring,
And lovers walked beneath those trees and birds found songs to sing.
I dodged the same old taxicabs that I had dodged for years.
The chorus of their squeaky horns was music to my ears.
The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
No matter how they change her, I'll remember her that way.
I'll think of happy hours, and people who shared them
Old women, selling flowers, in markets at dawn
Children who applauded, Punch and Judy in the park
And those who danced at night and kept our Paris bright
'til the town went dark.
Fairground by the Seine, circa 1955
